The fourth edition of the contest 'El valor de hacerlo bien' concluded with a ceremony that awarded short films focusing on significant youth issues like bullying, sexual abuse, and violence. This event, held at the Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil, showcased a total of 67 entries created by students from 129 educational institutions across 41 cities and towns in Ecuador.
The contest aimed to promote audiovisual production among students, leveraging modern tools such as artificial intelligence and collaborative efforts between students and teachers to enhance creative expression. Promoted by the Mesa Nacional de Educación en Valores and the Festival Intercolegial de Cine (FIC), the event received support from the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture, and the Prefecture of Guayas, ensuring a robust framework for youth engagement in tackling critical social issues.
Anunzziatta Valdez, a representative from the Mesa Nacional de Educación en Valores, emphasized the importance of addressing these themes through creative media. By participating in this contest, students not only gained valuable skills in film production but also raised awareness about pressing problems affecting their generation, contributing to a broader dialogue on the need for constructive solutions to these challenges.
