Aigro lands 17th at Kulm ski jump
Estonian ski jumper Artti Aigro finished 17th at the first post-Olympic World Cup event in Kulm, Austria.
Artti Aigro, the Estonian ski jumper, had a commendable performance at the World Cup event held in Kulm, Austria, finishing in 17th place. In his first jump, Aigro soared to a distance of 198 meters, scoring 180.1 points, which allowed him to qualify for the second round in 18th place. His second jump was equally impressive, reaching 197.5 meters and earning him an additional 181.9 points; this improvement allowed him to climb one position in the final standings, accumulating a total of 362.0 points.
The competition saw Slovenian skier Domen Prevc, who recently became the world champion in January and has won the last four World Cup events leading up to the Milano Cortina Olympics, capture yet another victory. Prevc achieved remarkable jumps of 213.5 and 228.5 meters, garnering a total of 433.0 points. Close behind were four Austrian jumpers, with Stephan Embacher finishing a narrow second with just 1.1 points less than Prevc, followed by Jonas Schuster, Daniel Tschofenig in fourth, and Maximilian Ortner in fifth place.
Another competition is scheduled to take place at the Kulm ski jump on Sunday, indicating that Aigro and his rivals have another opportunity to compete soon. This event not only highlights the individual performances of the athletes but also sets the stage for the upcoming winter sports season, culminating in the Olympics, where athletes like Aigro will aim for greater success.
