A woman was severely injured after being hit by a bus in Manaus, Brazil, leading to a crushed leg and urgent medical attention.

A serious incident occurred at the Terminal de Integração 1 in downtown Manaus, where an unidentified woman was gravely injured after being struck by a bus from line 136 on the morning of Friday, 24. Witnesses reported that the victim lost her balance while attempting to board the moving bus, resulting in her being hit and her leg being crushed by the vehicle. The scene was captured in a video showing the woman lying on the ground as other passengers rushed to provide assistance.

Emergency services were alerted immediately, and the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) transported the woman to a health unit in the city. Authorities, including the 24th Interactive Community Company (Cicom), are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. As of the report's publication, the G1 news outlet reached out to the State Department of Health (SES-AM) but had not received information regarding the woman’s medical condition.

In a statement responding to the incident, the Union of Passenger Transport Companies of the State of Amazonas (Sinetram) expressed sorrow for the accident and clarified that the passenger was running to get on the bus when the tragic event occurred. This incident has raised concerns regarding pedestrian safety and the responsibilities of bus operators in ensuring the safety of their passengers at terminals.
