Surveillance camera footage captured the moment two men were struck by a car in the Tarumã-Açu neighborhood of Manaus. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, resulting in the death of 47-year-old Silvio Antônio Mota Freitas and leaving another individual injured. The video clearly shows the victims crossing the street when they were suddenly hit by the vehicle, which then dragged them several meters before stopping briefly and fleeing the scene.
The Municipal Institute of Urban Mobility (IMMU) stated that the car involved in the incident was found abandoned nearby and was subsequently seized by authorities for investigation. Law enforcement responded to the scene after being alerted by the Integrated Center for Public Security Operations (Ciops). Upon arrival, they discovered two victims, one of whom tragically did not survive the crash.
