Collision between minibus and bus leaves 10 injured in North Zone of Manaus
A collision between a minibus and a public transportation bus in the North Zone of Manaus resulted in ten injuries, prompting a rescue operation by emergency services.
On the morning of Thursday, October 26, a collision between a minibus and a public transport bus occurred on Avenida Margarita in the Nova Cidade neighborhood, leaving ten people injured. Emergency response teams from the Military Fire Department of Amazonas were called to the scene, where they found that several victims were trapped inside the minibus due to the impact of the crash. The firefighters had to remove the door of the vehicle to assist in the rescue of the passengers.
Out of the ten individuals injured, six received treatment on-site and were discharged, while four additional victims were transported to medical facilities for further care. Three were taken to Hospital e Pronto-Socorro Platão Araújo, and one was admitted to a Basic Health Unit. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among passengers on the public transport bus involved in the incident, highlighting the significant impact of this collision on the minibus occupants.
The operation involved a robust response from local emergency services, including five fire vehicles and fourteen firefighters, alongside support from two ambulances provided by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). This incident underscores the need for enhanced safety measures in public transport systems, particularly in areas with high traffic volumes, to prevent such accidents in the future and ensure the safety of all commuters.
