Investment of over R$ 400 million in BR-364 optimizes grain harvest logistics

Over R$ 400 million has been invested in improving the BR-364 highway in Rondônia to enhance grain logistics for the 2025/26 harvest season.

The grain harvest for the 2025/26 season, which began in February, is set to benefit significantly from upgrades to the BR-364 infrastructure in Rondônia. According to estimates from the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), this highway corridor, linking Vilhena at the Mato Grosso border to the port terminals at Porto Velho, is expected to handle approximately 6.5 million tons of grains by May. This enhancement aims to streamline the logistics necessary for transporting agricultural produce efficiently.

In 2025, more than R$ 400 million was allocated by the concessionaire Nova 364 for extensive improvements along the 720.5-kilometer stretch of the highway. The investments focused on operational enhancements, machinery and equipment acquisition, road maintenance, renewal of signage, and the construction of 14 support bases. These bases will provide medical and mechanical assistance around the clock, ensuring greater safety and operational efficiency for transporters.

Ultimately, the investment in BR-364 not only aims to improve immediate logistics for the agricultural sector but also strengthens regional connectivity, linking key logistic corridors from the Amazon to Maranhão. This move is anticipated to bolster the economy and enhance productivity, firmly integrating the agricultural supply chain and ensuring timely movement of goods to market.
