More than 30 radars are installed on BR-364 in RO
Thirty-one speed enforcement radars have been installed on BR-364 in the region of Rondônia, covering key urban and rural areas to improve road safety.
The BR-364 in Rondônia has recently seen the installation of 31 electronic speed enforcement radars between Porto Velho and Vilhena. A portion of these radars was previously installed and underwent restoration, while new radars were also positioned in strategic locations aimed at enhancing traffic monitoring.
The initiative to install and recover these radars was undertaken by the highway concessionaire Nova 364, which is responsible for the management of the relevant section of the road. The radars are strategically positioned across urban and rural segments in municipalities including Porto Velho, Ariquemes, Jaru, Ouro Preto do Oeste, Cacoal, and Pimenta Bueno. The locations were chosen based on technical criteria, such as traffic volume, roadway characteristics, and historical accident data, with evaluations also conducted alongside the Federal Highway Police (PRF) to assess the need for further enforcement points.
As per Nova 364, the management of traffic violations registered by these radars will be overseen by the PRF, emphasizing a collaborative effort to enhance road safety. This significant deployment of speed monitoring technology suggests a proactive approach to reducing traffic-related incidents in the province, ensuring safer travel for both residents and visitors.
