IFMA opens 1,240 spots for preparatory courses for 9th-grade students; registrations begin on March 2
The Instituto Federal do Maranhão has announced 1,240 spots for its preparatory course aimed at 9th-grade public school students, with online registrations starting March 2, 2026.
The Instituto Federal do Maranhão (IFMA) has opened 1,240 vacancies for its preparatory course named Partiu IF 2026, specifically designed for 9th-grade students from public education. These spots are available across 31 campuses throughout the state, providing students with access to essential preparatory education as they advance in their studies. The initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities for young learners in Maranhão, particularly those attending public schools.
The registration process for the course will take place exclusively online from March 2 to March 6, 2026, through the IFMA’s official selection portal. Students interested in applying must submit an electronic form and attach several mandatory documents, including an official photo ID and CPF. Additionally, those who identify as black or brown are required to provide a recent photograph for heteroidentification purposes. Failing to submit these documents will result in application denial, emphasizing the structured approach the institute is taking in managing admissions.
Partiu IF is part of a national program aimed at helping students prepare for their transition into further education, reflecting a commitment to educational equity and accessibility in Brazil. By opening these spots, IFMA is taking a proactive step to ensure that students, especially from underrepresented backgrounds, have the necessary support and resources to succeed in their academic careers. This program is not only beneficial for the students but also serves to strengthen the educational framework of the state as a whole, fostering a more educated society in the long run.
