The Federal Institute of Maranhão (IFMA) has opened applications for 45 spots in its Bachelor's degree in Zootechnics, part of the National Program for Education in Land Reform (Pronera).

The Federal Institute of Maranhão (IFMA) has launched applications for a total of 45 slots in its Bachelor's degree program for Zootechnics at the Maracanã campus located in São Luís. This initiative falls under the National Program for Education in Land Reform (Pronera) and specifically targets individuals from rural backgrounds, aiming to enhance educational access for students engaged with agricultural practices. Classes are set to commence in the first semester of 2026, and the institution offers free online registration until March 13, 2026.

The selection process will comprise an evaluation of academic transcripts followed by a written examination scheduled for April 5, 2026. Prospective students will receive their final results on April 20, after which classes are expected to start around May 19. This Zootechnics program will be structured over a five-year period and conducted in alternating phases known as Time University and Time Community, allowing students to split their time between campus education and practical experiences within their communities.

This program not only exemplifies IFMA's commitment to providing quality education but also signifies broader efforts to engage and empower rural populations through specialized training. By participating in such initiatives, the institution aims to contribute positively to the local agricultural sector while fostering skills that will benefit both the students and their communities over time.
