Plenković at the Government meeting on oil for Hungary and Slovakia, missing persons, Ukraine…
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković emphasized the country's readiness to ensure oil supply to Hungary and Slovakia during a government meeting.
During a recent government meeting, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković highlighted the capabilities of the Croatian Oil Transport System (JANAF) to provide a secure oil supply to both Hungary and Slovakia. He stated that JANAF is capable of transporting 15 million tons of oil annually, and he dismissed claims from Hungarian officials about the oil pipeline being unreliable. Plenković reassured both countries that Croatia can meet their oil needs and prevent any potential energy crises.
Furthermore, Plenković addressed the issue of missing persons and the importance of infrastructure investments in Croatia. He mentioned ongoing efforts to resolve the tragic situations of the missing individuals while balancing these efforts with the need for national development projects. The government is committed to enhancing the infrastructure to support economic growth and energy security in the region.
Amid his remarks, he touched upon the diplomatic tensions surrounding Russian oil, specifically referring to the Hungarian Minister's controversial demands regarding oil supplies. This indicates a strained relationship between Croatia and Hungary on energy matters, while also showing Croatia’s strategic positioning in securing energy resources amidst the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Plenković's statements reaffirm Croatia's role as a reliable partner in the energy supply chain in Central Europe.
