Welfare Begins the National Training Day of the FAIS 2026
The Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, launched the National Training Day for the Social Infrastructure Contribution Fund (FAIS) 2026, aimed at enhancing the execution mechanisms of the fund to combat poverty and inequality.
The Secretary of Welfare in Mexico, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, recently inaugurated the National Training Day for the Social Infrastructure Contribution Fund (FAIS) 2026. This event gathered representatives from all 32 federal entities to discuss and strengthen the means of executing this fund, which is dedicated to addressing poverty and inequality through investments in basic social infrastructure projects. Montiel emphasized the fund's role as a primary tool in the government’s commitment to improving living conditions in underserved communities.
During the training, Montiel highlighted the pressing demand for investment in potable water, which has been consistently voiced by both the population and local authorities. In 2025, a significant collaborative investment of 24 billion pesos was made across various entities toward hydraulic and drainage projects. This indicates a focused effort on essential services that directly impact quality of life, illustrating the government’s strategy to prioritize water and sanitation infrastructure as part of its broader poverty alleviation agenda.
FAIS sources its funding from tax revenues, which further emphasizes the importance of effective resource management in addressing societal needs. The ultimate goal of the fund, as articulated by Montiel, is to utilize these financial contributions to enhance community well-being through vital infrastructure projects. The training initiative thus represents a critical step towards equipping local authorities with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement these projects effectively, reinforcing the government's dedication to sustainable development in Mexico.
