David Colmenares participates in FAIS event; emphasizes the importance of auditing resources

David Colmenares Páramo highlights the critical role of auditing in ensuring the effective, honest, and transparent use of public funds meant for social infrastructure projects benefiting people in extreme poverty during a training event for the FAIS 2026.

In a recent event focused on the State Training Day for the Social Infrastructure Contribution Fund (FAIS) 2026, David Colmenares Páramo, the Superior Auditor of the Federation in Mexico, emphasized the necessity of rigorous auditing as a key strategy in ensuring that public resources allocated for basic social infrastructure projects are used efficiently and transparently. This initiative is particularly aimed at helping populations living in extreme poverty and in socially marginalized conditions.

Alongside him, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, the Secretary of Welfare, noted that the FAIS training day commenced with representatives from all 32 states in Mexico. The training aims to enhance the execution mechanisms of the FAIS, which is designed to combat poverty through investments in basic social infrastructure projects. Montiel highlighted the importance of such initiatives in addressing systemic poverty.

Colmenares underlined the significance of these training sessions as they equip federal entities with necessary regulatory information to carry out their responsibilities effectively. By strengthening accountability and fostering transparency in the management of public funds, these efforts are intended to bolster the impact of infrastructure projects on vulnerable communities, ultimately aiming to improve their quality of life.
