MinC and Neoenergia Launch Rouanet in the Interior, with an Investment of R$ 6 Million

Neoenergia and the Ministry of Culture are launching the Rouanet program in less urbanized areas of Brazil with an investment of R$ 6 million.

The Rouanet program, a cultural funding initiative, will be launched by Neoenergia and the Ministry of Culture in Salvador, Brazil. This new initiative will allocate R$ 6 million to support cultural projects in less urbanized municipalities across several Brazilian states such as Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte, and São Paulo. The aim is to finance at least 30 projects, each receiving up to R$ 200,000 in funding, thus promoting cultural development in areas that often do not receive substantial financial backing.

The program prioritizes projects that incorporate affirmative actions and accessibility measures, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity within cultural funding. This decision is particularly significant as it seeks to enhance the cultural landscape in regions that have historically been underserved by cultural funding opportunities. By expanding the reach of the Rouanet Law, the initiative promises not only to support the arts but also to foster a more equitable distribution of resources throughout the country.

The launch will be attended by key figures such as the Minister of Culture, Margareth Menezes, and Neoenergia's CEO, Eduardo Capelastegui. Their involvement underscores the partnership between the public and private sectors in promoting culture and indicates a strategic focus on extending cultural initiatives beyond major urban centers, thereby enriching cultural diversity and access in Brazil's interior.
