Step Forward reaches Vale do Sambito and ensures access to means of transport
The Step Forward program in Brazil expands mobility services to residents of ten municipalities in the Vale do Sambito region.
The State Health Secretariat of Piauí (Sesapi) is conducting the second phase of the Step Forward program in the Vale do Sambito area this week, aiming to enhance mobility for residents. The program started in Valença do Piauí and will continue to other towns such as São Félix do Piauí, Santa Cruz dos Milagres, and several others, providing essential health assessments and support for the needs of local patients.
This initiative includes a range of services designed to support individuals requiring mobility aids, including specialized evaluations and the creation of molds for orthopedic devices, prostheses, and other mobility aids. By engaging with local health departments, the program ensures that residents of ten municipalities can obtain much-needed assistance tailored to their specific health requirements.
The Step Forward program reflects a broader effort by the Piauí state government to improve health services, particularly in under-resourced areas. By focusing on mobility and accessibility, it aims to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life, indicating a commitment to addressing public health disparities in the region.
