Klaipeda residents invited to check their hearing for free
Residents of Klaipeda are encouraged to participate in a free hearing check event organized by medical professionals.
A free event is being held in Klaipeda where residents can get their hearing checked by a team of professionals including ENT doctors and their partners. The initiative aims to raise awareness about hearing health, providing preliminary hearing tests, and evaluating balance. Specialists will offer individual recommendations, and practical tasks will help participants understand how their perception of sounds changes with hearing impairments and the impact on their social lives.
The event will emphasize preventive care, with the Health Sciences Faculty of KU showcasing a vestibular simulator. Families with children are invited to educational play areas designed to help them explore the world of sounds. This initiative, spearheaded by Valdas Bernotas, head of the Eye, Head, and Neck Surgery Clinic at KUL, stems from the need to connect more closely with the community and encourage residents to check their hearing before severe symptoms of hearing loss arise.
The program aligns with health promotion efforts and emphasizes the importance of early detection and community engagement in health services. Such initiatives are crucial in addressing potential hearing issues and fostering better understanding and awareness of auditory health among residents, subsequently aiming to enhance the overall well-being of the community.
