Free hearing tests available on World Hearing Day
On World Hearing Day, free hearing tests and consultations are being offered in Latvia to promote hearing health services access.
Today marks World Hearing Day, and in Latvia, individuals can access free hearing tests and specialist consultations, as announced by Marika Ūdre from the LNS Surdotehniskās palīdzības centra. The center is hosting these services in several cities including Riga, Liepaja, Ventspils, Rezekne, and Daugavpils, and is providing both in-person and remote consultations throughout the country.
The initiative aims to enhance the accessibility of hearing health services and inform the public about options for receiving government-funded hearing aids. The remote consultations are especially beneficial for residents who cannot visit the center in person, ensuring that professional support is available even in regional areas. Visitors will also get information on the proper use and maintenance of hearing aids, as well as insights into the latest hearing technology solutions and other assistive devices.
To take advantage of the free hearing test or consultation, whether in-person or remote, individuals are required to make a prior appointment. The center emphasizes the importance of hearing health and encourages participation in this initiative to make hearing services more accessible to all citizens in Latvia.
