You better check – part of public transport routes will change in Vilnius next week
Next week, public transport routes in Vilnius, including bus route 88 and night buses, will undergo changes to improve service to residents.
Public transport in Vilnius is set to experience modifications starting March 2, with specific changes impacting bus route 88 and night services. The municipality's transportation company, 'Judu', announced that bus stops on route 88 will include Stadiono, Pelesos, Baziljonų, Rūdininkų, Vingrių, Reformatų, and Icelandic stops. Additionally, adjustments have been made to meet the needs of Liepkalnis residents, ensuring that buses will run longer hours to provide convenient transport from Vilnius Airport during late hours.
As part of these changes, the night bus service will be simplified. Instead of operating on two separate routes, there will now be a single route, N8, which will serve specific areas including the airport, Naujininkai, Station, and City Center on weekends and on weekdays. This restructuring aims to streamline public transport and improve accessibility for residents and visitors alike, showcasing the municipality's responsiveness to community needs.
These updates highlight the importance of adapting public transport to meet the demands of its users. By improving bus schedules for late-night arrivals from the airport and consolidating night routes, the city is making efforts to enhance the efficiency of its transport network. The changes are expected to have a positive effect on ridership and urban mobility in Vilnius.
