The fundraising campaign organized by Latvijas Sabiedriskā medija (LSM) and 'Ziedot.lv' successfully raised €745,018 to assist Ukrainian citizens amidst the ravaging effects of the war. Running from February 9 to February 25, the campaign marked the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and aimed to provide immediate support to those suffering from the destruction of energy infrastructure. LSM spokesperson Ieva Rozentāle highlighted the urgency of the situation, as many people continued to face harsh winter conditions without heating, electricity, or light due to the ongoing conflict.

Throughout the campaign, the Latvian public was encouraged to donate, with the collected funds earmarked for purchasing generators and ensuring electricity and heating for communities in dire need. This initiative plays a crucial role in enabling shelters to provide warmth, boil water, prepare hot meals, and restore light to areas currently engulfed in darkness.
