Nunziata at the helm of Kings, Saints, and Lions
Francesco Nunziata returns to Nola to become the resident chef of the Michelin-star restaurant Re Santi e Leoni after gaining experience in Tuscany and maintaining Michelin status at his previous post.
Francesco Nunziata, a talented chef born in 1987, has returned to his hometown of Nola to take on the role of resident chef at Re Santi e Leoni, a restaurant that has made a mark since its opening in 2020. This establishment was founded by entrepreneur Lucio Giordano, who temporarily closed it for a short reset after parting ways with the previous Michelin-starred chef, Luigi Salomone, who elevated the restaurant's standing. Nunziata's return signifies a personal and professional full circle after four years in Tuscany.
Prior to his return, Nunziata honed his culinary skills at the Castello di Fighine, a meticulously restored medieval village located between Val dโOrcia and Umbria. There, he successfully maintained the Michelin star, showcasing his proficiency and commitment to high-quality cuisine. His culinary journey began in the Vesuvian area, passing through the prestigious IPSAR L. Deโ Medici and leading to his notable experience at La Pergola, the esteemed three-star Michelin restaurant run by Heinz Beck at the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria.
Nunziata's leadership at Re Santi e Leoni is highly anticipated, as he is expected to carry on the legacy of excellence and innovation that the restaurant represents. His extensive background and previous accolades suggest that he will be instrumental in attracting both locals and tourists to experience the unique gastronomic offerings of Nola, further enhancing the area's culinary reputation as it seeks to establish itself on the map of fine dining.
