Four people are arrested with drugs and illegal medication on Via Dutra, in Barra Mansa
Four individuals were arrested on Via Dutra in Barra Mansa, Brazil, during a police operation targeting drug trafficking, which also led to the seizure of illegal drugs and a veterinary anesthetic.
A police operation conducted by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) and the Civil Police in Barra Mansa, Rio de Janeiro, resulted in the arrest of four individuals and the confiscation of drugs and an illegal veterinary anesthetic. The operation took place on Tuesday, October 24, along a segment of the Via Dutra highway which is known for drug trafficking activities. Authorities seized seven packages of cocaine base, 90 pieces of marijuana, and four vials of ketonal 100, which contains ketamine that is often misused for recreational purposes.
The police targeted two vehicles during the operation, where they were able to apprehend a couple in one car with a significant portion of the drugs found in the trunk. Another couple in a different vehicle was also found transporting drugs. This coordinated effort underscores the serious issues surrounding drug trafficking in that area, which has been a growing concern for law enforcement agencies in Brazil.
Following their arrest, all four suspects were taken to the local police station in Volta Redonda, where they face ongoing investigations. As authorities work to dismantle drug trafficking networks, this incident highlights the continuing challenges law enforcement faces in curbing the distribution of illegal substances within Brazil, particularly in regions prone to such activities.
