Six men suspected of drug trafficking association are arrested in Barra Mansa

Six men and one teenager were arrested in Barra Mansa, Brazil, for suspected involvement in drug trafficking and association to trafficking.

On Tuesday morning, in Vila Delgado, Barra Mansa (RJ), six men and a teenager were arrested by the Civil Police for their suspected roles in drug trafficking and association to this crime. The arrests were made as a result of intelligence work which identified specific locations known for drug sales within an area controlled by a criminal faction. Police conducted the operation around 11 AM, apprehending the suspects who were found at the scene.

During the arrests, authorities seized a significant amount of drugs including nine marijuana strips, two bundles of marijuana, twelve ready-to-consume marijuana cigarettes, seventeen bottles of cocaine, and forty-three crack rocks. Additionally, five mobile phones and a transmitter radio were confiscated. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to tackle drug-related crime in the region, which has been a persistent issue exacerbated by gang activity.

The Civil Police announced that they have already identified the person responsible for managing the drug trade in Vila Delgado, and investigations are expected to continue. The six men will face charges related to drug trafficking and association for drug trafficking, marking another step in the fight against organized crime in Brazil, particularly in regions like Barra Mansa where drug-related violence has been an increasing concern.
