Suspects arrested for drug trafficking and association in Barra Mansa
A man and a woman were arrested in Barra Mansa, Brazil, during a police action against drug trafficking, with authorities seizing various illegal narcotics.
On Thursday afternoon, a police operation in Barra Mansa, Rio de Janeiro, led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman suspected of drug trafficking. The arrest took place in the Vila BrÃgida neighborhood, where both suspects were allegedly seen selling drugs. Upon noticing the police officers approaching, they attempted to flee the scene but were quickly apprehended.
Authorities seized a significant quantity of drugs during the operation, including 52 pouches of cocaine, 17 rocks of crack, and seven baggies of marijuana, all prepared for sale. The police reported that the suspects were taken to the local police station, where they were charged with drug trafficking and conspiracy to commit a crime based on the evidence collected during their illegal activities.
The suspects are currently in police custody and are awaiting legal proceedings. The case remains under investigation by the Civil Police, reflecting ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the region.
