The Piauí State Secretariat of Culture (Secult) is organizing auditions for the upcoming theatrical performance 'Batalha do Jenipapo 2026', which will take place this Friday, at 4 PM, at the Sulica Auditorium in Teresina. The auditions are open to professional actors, amateurs, students from the Gomes Campos School, and singers who wish to join one of the largest civic-cultural events in the state. Candidates aiming for the professional roles must present their DRT number as proof of registration.

This spectacle is part of the official calendar of Secult and marks the programming for the 203rd anniversary of Brazil’s Independence in Piauí. It is scheduled to take place on March 13, at the Monument of the Heroes of Jenipapo, in Campo Maior—a historic site symbolizing the resistance of the people of Piauí during the independence consolidation process. According to director Franklin Pires, the production aims to both entertain and commemorate a significant moment in Brazilian history through the arts.
