In response to significant rainfall impacting the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais, 22 firefighters from the Military Fire Brigade of Minas Gerais based in Belo Horizonte have been mobilized for rescue operations. The operation involves over 90 military personnel responding to incidents of landslides across at least 15 locations, utilizing advanced detection equipment designed to locate trapped individuals by sound and heartbeat detection. A search dog has also been dispatched to support the efforts, collaborating with a detection dog already in the field.

The teams face challenges due to the hazards created by landslides and are following established protocols typically used in debris searches.
