A recent police operation in Amapá, Brazil, has resulted in the arrest of several individuals linked to homicides and drug trafficking. During the action, six mobile phones were discovered inside a cell at the Institute of Penitentiary Administration (Iapen), believed to have been used for communication among criminals. The police executed search warrants across three addresses in the city, leading to significant discoveries of weapons and drugs.

At one location, a woman was caught in the act with a pistol, magazines, ammunition, and quantities of drugs. Additionally, an adolescent was apprehended with ammunition, while two adults and two teenagers were detained in another area, where police seized shotguns, more ammunition, various drugs, a precision scale, and a .38 caliber revolver. According to police reports, one man in possession of the revolver claimed it was used in a homicide that occurred the previous Saturday in the Fonte Nova neighborhood.

All seized items were transported to the Integrated Public Security Operations Center (Ciosp) in Santana for further processing, and the investigation continues. This operation underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement in Brazil to crack down on violent crime and drug-related activities, reflecting a larger trend of increasing police initiatives aimed at improving public safety in the region.
