The US Embassy in Brasília has launched a free online course aimed at English teachers from the Federal District and Goiás. This initiative, titled 'Brazilians Innovating on the Teaching of English (BRITE)', is conducted in collaboration with Casa Thomas Jefferson and encourages teachers to embrace innovative teaching techniques. It is specifically designed to address the practical application of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) as well as teaching English as a lingua franca.

Teachers interested in participating must meet certain prerequisites, including being active educators in public or private schools at the middle or final years of elementary education, and must also be available for synchronous meetings and online activities. The course structure includes a total of at least 100 hours and is divided into two modules, with the first module scheduled to run from March to May. Enrollment is open until March 6, with interested candidates directed to complete the registration through an online form.
