The State Department of Education of Espírito Santo has opened over 5,000 vacancies for free English and Spanish courses for high school students in the public education system.
The Secretary of Education of Espírito Santo (Sedu) announced the opening of 5,220 vacancies for free English and Spanish courses aimed at students enrolled in public high schools across the state. Enrollment began on February 10 and will continue until 11:59 PM on February 18, with applications to be submitted online through the Seleção Aluno portal. A classified list of applicants will be released on February 27, starting at 5 PM.
Classes will be conducted face-to-face at 50 locations spread across 37 municipalities throughout the state, providing students with the opportunity to learn a new language. Additionally, enrollment in one of these language centers (CEIs) is a requirement for students seeking to participate in the Student Exchange Program. Last year, 350 students secured trips abroad through this program, and it is anticipated that this number will increase to 500 participants by 2026.
The provision of these language courses not only enhances the educational qualifications of the students but also opens doors for international experiences, reflecting the government's commitment to improving language skills among its youth. This initiative is seen as vital for future job opportunities and intercultural exchange, further encouraging students to pursue academic excellence and gain global exposure.
