Father Kim Soo-chang, also known by his baptismal name James, passed away on the 23rd due to illness, reaching the age of 90. Born in 1936 in Yonggang, South Pyongan Province, Father Kim was ordained in 1962 and began his pastoral work as an assistant in the Myungsudae parish. After studying in Germany from 1966 to 1969, he took on significant roles in the Catholic Young Workers Movement (J.O.C) and served as the parish priest in various locations including Wangsimni and Imun-dong. Father Kim was an influential figure in the Archdiocese, known for his dedication to catechesis and promoting lay participation in church activities.
