Mato Grosso gains 15 new international markets in 2 years
Mato Grosso, Brazil, has successfully opened 15 new international markets in two years to diversify its export profile according to the State Secretariat of Economic Development.
In the past two years, Mato Grosso has managed to secure 15 new international markets aimed at bolstering its export capabilities. This announcement was made on Sunday by the State Secretariat for Economic Development (Sedec), highlighting an increase in the number of countries buying Mato Grosso's products from 148 in 2023 to 164 by 2025. The figures come from Comex Stat, part of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC). This strategic move is part of the state's efforts to diversify its export portfolio and enhance its presence in global markets.
The data suggests a significant shift in the export dynamics of Mato Grosso, with a net gain of 15 new markets, as 23 new countries have started importing from the state while eight previously existing destinations have been dropped by 2025. This influx of new international buyers represents a proactive approach to the economic development strategy being pursued by the state government. Such diversification not only helps stabilize the export economy but also opens up new opportunities for local producers to connect with different markets.
The introduction of these new markets, which include countries like Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Kazakhstan, reflects a growing interest in the products offered by Mato Grosso, ranging from agricultural goods to various industrial outputs. The Sedec emphasizes that expanding the global footprint of Mato Grosso is crucial for sustainable economic growth and resilience against global market fluctuations. As the state continues to increase its export reach, it will likely play a pivotal role in Brazil's overall economic development in the coming years.
