At the Winter Olympics closing ceremony, short-track skater Roberts Krūzbergs and cross-country skier Patrīcija Eiduka will carry Latvia's flag.
Roberts Krūzbergs has made history for Latvia by winning a bronze medal in the 1500 meters short-track event at the Winter Olympics, marking the country's first Olympic medal in this discipline. Additionally, he achieved an impressive 5th place in the 1000 meters event. Patrīcija Eiduka also made significant strides for Latvia in cross-country skiing, earning an 11th place finish in the 50 km classic style race and a 15th place in the 10 km free style race with interval starts.
This year's Winter Olympics saw Latvia represented by its largest delegation ever, comprised of 68 athletes competing across 9 sports and 28 disciplines. The Latvian team performed notably well, with standout performances including a silver medal by luge athlete Elīna Ieva Bota, and Kristers Aparjods achieving an admirable 4th place in the men's singles luge. The pairs event also saw strong finishes, with Bogdanova and Robežniece finishing 4th, and Bots and Plūme coming in 5th, while the Latvian relay team finished 4th, just shy of a medal.
