Latvian wheelchair curlers Rožkova and Lasmans have been chosen to represent Latvia as flag bearers at the upcoming Winter Paralympic Games in Milan-Cortina. Rožkova has an impressive record, being the only Latvian Paralympian to compete in both summer and winter games, having previously participated in the Rio de Janeiro summer games and the Beijing winter games. This marks her third Paralympic appearance and her second time carrying the national flag during the opening ceremony.

Lasmans will also be making his second appearance at the Winter Paralympics, having debuted in 2022 in Beijing. In a notable accomplishment earlier in 2023, Lasmans and Rožkova won the first-ever gold medal for Latvia in a mixed doubles competition at the World Curling Championship.
