Pay attention: From February 26, the login process for state e-services will be updated

On February 26, Estonia will implement a new secure login method, Smart-ID+, for its state e-services to reduce fraud risks and simplify usage.

Starting from February 26, the Estonian Information System Authority (RIA) will introduce Smart-ID+, a new solution for the state's authentication services. This implementation aims to enhance the security of logging into state e-services by offering a more secure and user-friendly login flow. The transition to Smart-ID+ is expected to reduce the risks of fraud associated with online identity verification.

The Smart-ID+ solution will be applied across various governmental e-services, including the national portal eesti.ee, the health portal, e-services from the Tax and Customs Board, and the self-service options from the Social Insurance Board. By streamlining the login process, the government aims to improve access to essential services while ensuring that the identities of users are verified securely.

This move highlights Estonia's commitment to advancing its digital infrastructure and emphasizes the role of innovative solutions in enhancing public service delivery. As the country is known for its e-governance initiatives, the adoption of Smart-ID+ is a significant step towards providing a safer and more intuitive online experience for citizens using state services, aligning with global trends in digital security and user privacy.
