The developer of Smart-ID introduces a new authentication solution in Latvia
Smart-ID developer SK ID Solutions has launched Smart-ID+, a new authentication solution designed to enhance security for digital services in Latvia.
SK ID Solutions, the developer of Smart-ID, has launched a new authentication solution known as Smart-ID+ in Latvia, tailored to improve security for digital services. This initiative comes in response to rising cybersecurity threats and increasingly sophisticated fraud methods in the digital realm. The company emphasizes that Smart-ID+ is fundamentally designed to empower users to approve actions such as logging into e-services or executing payments only through their devices using the Smart-ID app.
The new Smart-ID+ employs a dynamic QR code system that ensures enhanced security when accessing e-services. When a user attempts to log into an e-service from a computer or a different device, a unique QR code appears on the screen, which can be scanned using the Smart-ID app for approval with a PIN code. This dynamic feature, where each QR code changes uniquely every time, adds an additional layer of protection against potential breaches. Moreover, if the service is accessed directly on a mobile phone, an App-to-App authentication process will be utilized, ensuring a seamless and secure user experience.
SK ID Solutions' introduction of Smart-ID+ aligns with the growing emphasis on cybersecurity and consumer safety in digital transactions. As online services and transactions proliferate, the need for secure authentication methods has never been more critical. This initiative not only aims to enhance user security but also positions SK ID Solutions prominently in the rapidly evolving landscape of digital authentication solutions, reflecting a proactive approach to tackle modern cybersecurity challenges.
