Project opens registrations for free industrial sewing course in Salvador; learn how to participate
A project in Salvador is offering a free industrial sewing course for residents of the Cidade Baixa, targeting unemployed individuals with a low income.
A new initiative called Ponto da Moda has launched in Salvador, Brazil, providing an opportunity for local residents to develop valuable skills through a free industrial sewing course. This program is specifically aimed at individuals living in the Cidade Baixa area, with a total of 40 available spots for participants. To qualify, applicants must be over 18 years old, unemployed, and belong to households earning no more than two minimum wages.
The course will comprise 240 hours of instruction, which will be conducted from Monday to Friday. Classes will take place in two shifts: the morning session from 7:30 AM to 11:50 AM, and the afternoon session from 1:30 PM to 5:50 PM. The first day of class is scheduled for March 16 at the headquarters of Lavoro Brasil, situated in the Bahia TΓͺxtil condominium in the Uruguai neighborhood.
Residents interested in participating can register online until March 25. This program not only aims to equip locals with essential skills for the growing textile industry but also seeks to enhance their employment prospects, thereby contributing to the economic upliftment of the community. With job opportunities in sewing gaining traction, initiatives like this underscore the importance of skill development in marginalized urban areas.
