"Radar!" funds become help at the front: the first air robot unit will reach Ukraine in two weeks

Lithuania's "RADAROM!" initiative aims to create and supply robotic units to assist Ukrainian forces, reducing direct risks to human soldiers.

The "RADAROM!" initiative, launched this year, focuses on developing and providing air and ground robot units to Ukraine, designed to operate in the most dangerous zones. These robotic systems can take the place of soldiers, perform tasks remotely, and thereby decrease the direct risk faced by human personnel on the battlefield. The entire unit will be assembled in stages based on contractual agreements, production timelines, and logistical needs.

The first robotic unit consists of equipment that has been developed in Ukraine and tested in combat situations. It will be assembled according to several critical categories, which include clearly defined planned quantities and funding requirements. The initial unit will comprise an unmanned complex and a transfer drone, capable of taking on various operational missions aimed at enhancing battlefield effectiveness.

Among the equipment being acquired are the "Backfire" operational range strike systems, intended for highly precise strikes targeting enemy rear positions at distances of up to 100 km or more. These systems are designed to function under complex electronic warfare conditions and are reusable. In this initial phase, two sets of "Backfire" systems and two sets of the night strike drones, "Vampire," are being procured, totaling four units to support ongoing military efforts in Ukraine.
