In January 2023, the average price of the basic grocery basket in Litoral Norte, São Paulo, rose from R$ 787.69 in December 2022 to R$ 815.43, marking an increase of 3.52%. This increase was highlighted by a regional study conducted by the Centro Universitário Módulo from Grupo Cruzeiro do Sul. Specific cities within the region saw varying changes, with Ilhabela experiencing the most significant price hike at 7.16%, while São Sebastião, Caraguatatuba, and Ubatuba saw increases of 0.47%, 3.21%, and 3.19% respectively.
