A slight snowstorm expected on Saturday

Latvia is forecasted to experience a slight snowstorm due to increased winds on Saturday.

Meteorologists predict that on Saturday, winds in Latvia will intensify, leading to a slight snowstorm. A moderately strong southwesterly wind will shift to a southerly one, with gusts reaching between 10 to 15 meters per second; in the western coast of Kurzeme, gusts may even reach up to 18 meters per second during the night and morning.

The skies will be partly cloudy, with no significant precipitation expected throughout the day. However, in the evening, light snow may begin to fall from the west of the country. Nighttime temperatures are expected to drop between -6 to -12 degrees Celsius; near the western coast of Kurzeme, temperatures may only fall to -2 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature on Saturday is forecasted to be between 0 to -4 degrees Celsius.

In Riga on February 21, there are no expected precipitation events; the sun may be visible through scattered clouds. Night temperatures will drop to around -7 degrees Celsius with a moderate southwesterly wind, and daytime gusts from the south may reach up to 13 meters per second, with temperatures rising slightly to around -2 degrees Celsius.
