At least 9 injured in Russian attacks on Ukraine over past day
Russian attacks across Ukraine have left at least nine civilians injured within a 24-hour period, according to regional authorities.
In a series of attacks over the past day, Russian forces have injured at least nine civilians in various regions of Ukraine, highlighting the ongoing conflict and its impact on innocent lives. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile along with 128 drones during the night. Despite these aggressive strikes, Ukrainian air defenses were able to intercept 107 of the drones, but the resulting chaos from the remaining missiles and drones struck 14 locations. One incident involved debris from the attacks falling in a locality, emphasizing the destructive nature of the strikes.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, local authorities have reported that six individuals were injured due to these strikes. Meanwhile, Kharkiv Oblast was another focal point of the attacks, where Russian strikes targeted not only the regional center of Kharkiv but also affected eleven other settlements, resulting in injuries to two civilians. Specific incidents included a 58-year-old man injured in Dvorichnyi Kut and a 54-year-old man hurt in Malynivka, reflecting the indiscriminate nature of the bombardment on civilian areas.
The ongoing military engagement continues to take a toll on the civilian population with every round of strikes, illustrated by a drone strike in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, which injured a 73-year-old man. This pattern of violence underscores the desperate need for a resolution to the conflict, as everyday citizens face the dire consequences of international hostilities. The situation remains critical as local authorities scramble to respond to the humanitarian needs of those affected by these ongoing attacks.
