The "My Bird" photo contest, organized by the Latvian Nature Museum, has been ongoing for 24 years, encouraging public interest in observing birds and familiarizing themselves with nature processes. Participants are invited to submit photographs of wild birds taken in Latvia from January 1, 2025, to March 22, 2026. The contest emphasizes the importance of artistic composition, the variety of bird species, and the photographer's understanding and attitude toward nature. Dmitrijs Boiko, head of the Zoology Department at the museum, noted the unusual abundance of birds at feeders this winter, reminiscent of a classic Latvian winter, thus creating a hopeful environment for diverse photo submissions including those capturing the arrival of migratory birds in the spring.
