The dairy industry OMHROS inaugurates a new milk station in Glyki, Thesprotia, aimed at increasing milk collection capacity and job creation.

The Greek dairy company OMHROS has inaugurated a new proprietary milk station located in Glyki, Thesprotia. This facility, with a daily capacity of 60 tons, is set to enhance the collection of raw milk in the Epirus region. In addition to increasing operational capacities, the new station is expected to create five new job positions and integrate 150 additional farmers into the company's network, further bolstering the national milk collection network across various regions including Sterea Hellas, Tripoli, Agrinio, Xanthi, Livadia, Naxos, and Rethymno.

According to Dimitris Kourkounas, the Milk Zone Director, this investment strengthens the sustainability of livestock units and promotes fair pricing for milk. The establishment of this station not only emphasizes OMHROS's commitment to supporting local agriculture but also solidifies its strategic presence in the Greek primary production sector. The ongoing development signifies the company's efforts in enhancing both local and national economic landscapes through collaborative farming initiatives.

With a focus on international markets and exclusively export-oriented activities for over two decades, OMHROS is on a growth trajectory that is reportedly paying off. As the company closes its business cycle for 2024, it has achieved a remarkable 20% increase in revenue, reflecting the success of its strategic decisions and investments aimed at sustaining and expanding its operations effectively in the competitive dairy industry.
