Model schools to open in every block of Bihar, exam on March 11
The Bihar government plans to open one model school in each block, with an entrance examination scheduled for March 11 to enroll students for the 2026-27 academic session.
The Bihar government is set to establish model secondary schools in every block across the state, starting classes from grade 9 in the academic session of 2026-27. An entrance examination will be conducted on March 11 for student enrollment, with successful candidates placed on a merit list for admission into these schools. The initiative reflects the government's commitment to enhancing educational standards and preparing students for competitive exams.
In response to feedback regarding the application process, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has extended the deadline for online applications to February 20. Originally set for February 15, this extension allows more students to participate in the admission process, addressing concerns about insufficient time to apply.
The model schools aim to equip students from grade 9 onwards with the necessary tools and education for competitive examinations like NEET and JEE, which are crucial for aspiring medical and engineering students. By providing quality education and competitive training in local blocks, students can now prepare for significant examinations without the need to travel far, thus promoting educational accessibility throughout Bihar.
