The São Paulo police are currently investigating a brazen robbery that took place during the Carnival season, where thieves managed to steal a nearly half-ton safe containing luxurious jewelry from a building in Moema, in the South Zone of the city. The criminals broke down a door, searched through the premises, and despite their attempt to open the safe with electric saws, they ultimately succeeded in removing it entirely. Security footage captured the moments leading up to and immediately after the crime, featuring one suspect wearing a cap and mask in the elevator followed by another individual just before the recording was interrupted.
