Survey Shows: 9 out of 10 Lithuanians Use Artificial Intelligence, Even if They Don't Notice It
A new survey reveals that a significant majority of Lithuanians utilize artificial intelligence in their daily tasks, often without recognizing it.
A recent study commissioned by Norstat highlights that 90% of Lithuanians reportedly use artificial intelligence (AI) in their everyday tasks, although many are unaware of it. According to estimates by the World Economic Forum, three out of four companies plan to implement AI solutions in the near future. The survey found that 88% of global workers are currently utilizing AI for routine activities, suggesting a widespread acceptance and integration of AI technologies across diverse sectors.
The research indicates that inhabitants of the Baltic states perceive AI as a beneficial tool for work, studies, and everyday life, with Lithuanians leading in AI usage on smartphones, with 31% indicating regular use, compared to 15% in Latvia and 23% in Estonia. This trend illustrates a growing familiarity with digital advancements among the Lithuanian population, particularly the youth, who are more likely to engage with technological innovations as part of their daily routines.
However, the study also reveals a paradox regarding the awareness of AI usage, as fewer than half of the respondents acknowledged using AI when directly asked. As revealed by Eglė Tamelytė, communications director at Norstat in Lithuania, individuals may not readily recognize various AI functions they engage with, such as automatic text corrections, translation, and voice assistants. This disconnect underscores the need for better education and communication about AI technologies and their prevalence in modern life, encouraging more citizens to understand and embrace these tools.
