Ten Lithuanian ministers are utilizing artificial intelligence tools to enhance their work efficiency.
In Lithuania, ten ministers from the cabinet are incorporating artificial intelligence tools into their daily tasks to improve their workflow. These ministers include individuals overseeing various departments such as the environment, economy, finance, and culture. The use of platforms such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini has been cited as beneficial for tasks like information searching, data comparison, analysis, organization, and drafting documents.
Among the ministers embracing technology, the environment minister Kastytis Žuromskas and the finance minister Kristupas Vaitiekūnas have highlighted the advantages of AI in facilitating timely and accurate decision-making. Furthermore, ministers from health, education, foreign affairs, and agriculture have also recognized the role of AI in streamlining their responsibilities. On the other hand, Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė stands out as one of the five ministers who currently do not utilize these AI tools in her work.
This willingness of many ministers to integrate AI into government operations reflects a broader trend towards modernization within public institutions while also raising discussions about the reliance on technological tools in governance. As these ministers continue to adapt to these changes, it could lead to enhanced efficiency but also presents challenges regarding data privacy, the accuracy of AI-generated information, and the need for human oversight in critical decision-making processes.
