In 2025, Latvia's tourist accommodations reported a significant increase in visitors, servicing 4.5% more guests than the previous year. Notably, 59.3% of all guests were foreign visitors, totaling approximately 1.7 million, which marked a 5.3% increase compared to 2024. The number of nights spent by foreign guests also rose, with an 8.3% increase leading to a total of 3.1 million nights. The average length of stay for foreign guests remained steady at 1.8 nights, similar to the previous year.
The report highlighted that the highest number of foreign guests came from Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, and Finland, among others. In total, the visitors from the UK represented the most significant growth, with an increase of 19.7%, translating to an additional 18,700 guests. Other notable increases were observed from Poland, Finland, and Estonia, which further emphasizes the growing trend of international tourism in Latvia following the challenges posed by previous global events.
This rise in tourism not only reflects a recovering travel industry within Latvia but also underscores its growing appeal as a tourist destination in the Baltic region. The increase in foreign visits will likely have positive implications for the local economy, particularly in the hospitality sector, encouraging investments and improvements to services offered in tourist accommodations.
