This marked a significant growth of 5.3% in international tourism, with foreign guests accounting for 3.1 million overnight stays—a marked increase of 8.3% from the previous year. The average stay for these guests remained stable at 1.8 nights, reflecting consistent interest among travelers. The highest number of foreign visitors came from neighboring countries, notably Lithuania, Estonia, and Germany, illustrating Latvia's appeal in the Baltic region and beyond. Specifically, there were 272.5 thousand guests from Lithuania, 188.1 thousand from Estonia, and 165.2 thousand from Germany among others. The statistics indicate a healthy influx of tourists, indicating recovery and growth in the tourism sector post-pandemic and a renewed interest in Latvia as a travel destination. Particularly notable was the growth in visitors from the United Kingdom, which saw a 19.7% increase compared to 2024. Similarly, increases were observed from Poland, Finland, and Estonia, suggesting broadening relationships and interest from these markets. The upward trend signifies positive implications for Latvia's economy, enhancing local businesses and potentially leading to further investments in the tourism sector as international travel continues to normalize.
