Music festivals in Brazil grow by 20% and reach 366 events in 2025
Brazil hosted 366 music festivals in 2025, a 20% increase from 2023, as reported by the Panorama Mapa dos Festivais.
In 2025, Brazil saw a significant rise in music festivals, totaling 366 events, which marks a substantial 20% increase compared to the previous count in 2023, according to the upcoming Panorama Mapa dos Festivais study set to be launched on March 11. This study provides an in-depth overview of the music festival sector, presenting data on events, participating artists, audience sizes, and sponsorships. Among the festivals, 65 were held for the first time, while 41 reached their second iteration, although 15 faced cancellations.
The geographical distribution of these festivals reveals that the Southeast region dominates with 200 events, followed by the Northeast with 68, the South with 46, the Central-West with 34, and the North with 18. While major urban centers still lead in hosting music festivals, the data indicates a growing diversity in festival locations, as regions outside traditional hotspots are increasingly becoming part of the festival scene. This shift reflects not only expanding cultural engagement but also highlights the potential for broader tourism and economic development in these areas.
However, this growth trajectory brings about intensified competition for audience attention, sponsorship opportunities, and logistical organization among event organizers. The survey also identified 946 brands linked to the festival events in 2025, emphasizing the increasing corporate investment into the music festival landscape in Brazil. These findings suggest a vibrant and evolving atmosphere in the music festival sector, with both challenges and opportunities for future development.
