Auziņa and Eiduka win 13th place in the team sprint competition final

Latvia's Auziņa and Eiduka finished 13th in the team sprint final, with the Swedish team taking gold.

In the recent team sprint competition, Latvia's duo auziņa and eiduka managed to secure a 13th place finish in the finals, showcasing their competitive spirit. The gold medal was claimed by the Swedish team, finishing with a time of 20 minutes and 29.99 seconds, while the Swiss squad took home silver, just 1.40 seconds behind the winners. The German team won bronze, narrowly edging out Norway, which fell short of medaling.

Starting the race for Latvia, Auziņa set the pace, but it was team leader Eiduka who crossed the finish line. The Latvian pair was 1 minute and 26.06 seconds behind the champions. Eiduka turned in a solid individual performance, clocking in the sixth-fastest time amongst all competitors at 3 minutes and 21.42 seconds during her leg of the race. Auziņa’s time of 3 minutes and 38.48 seconds put her in 32nd place, resulting in a cumulative deficit of 29.96 seconds against the leading athletes.

This event marked a significant achievement for the Latvian team as they qualified for the finals for the first time with the 12th fastest time in the qualifiers.
