Eiduka and Auziņa's team qualifies for the finals in the Olympic sprint

Latvian cross-country skiers Kitija Auziņa and Patrīcija Eiduka secured their spot in the finals of the women's team sprint at the Milan and Cortina Olympic Games. They achieved a time of six minutes and 59.90 seconds, placing 12th in the qualification round that took place on Wednesday. While they fell short by nearly 30 seconds to the qualifying winners from Sweden, their performance was strong enough to advance them to the finals set to take place later today.
In the qualification, the Finnish skiers showcased the second-best result, while the Canadian team took third place. The finals will feature the top 15 teams, marking a significant achievement for Auziņa and Eiduka, who managed to push through a competitive field to reach this crucial stage of the competition. Their qualification reflects the growing talent and potential within Latvian winter sports, particularly in cross-country skiing.
Today also marks the start of the men's team sprint, with Latvian representatives Lauris Kaparkalējs and Niks Saulītis set to compete. Saulītis replaces Raimo Vīgants in this category, highlighting the dynamic nature of team compositions in Olympic sports.
