Latvian cross-country skiers compete in the sprint qualifiers at the Winter Olympics, with Kitija Auziņa achieving the best result among her teammates.
At the Milan-Cortina Olympics, Latvia's cross-country skiers began their competition day with the sprint qualifiers held in Val di Fiemme. Notably, leading athlete Patrīcija Eiduka did not participate in this event. In the women's category, Kitija Auziņa finished in 71st place, while her teammates Samanta Krampi and Linda Kaparkalēja placed 78th and 84th respectively. Kaparkalēja's debut was particularly challenging, as she nearly fell during the race, losing valuable seconds. The men's qualifications are scheduled to start around 10:57 AM Latvian time, with further updates to follow.
